Sheepdog Coffee Co. | Winnipeg, Canada

This week we got a roast in from our friends at Sheepdog Coffee Co., a new roaster out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada!

As soon as I saw that these guys were from my home town I just had to give one of their roasts a try! Currently they offer 8 different roasts on their site ranging from $15-17.25 for 12oz bags. They also offer a “Roasters choice subscription package”.

They sent us a bag of their “Nightwatch” espresso (above) which was lacking some of the common themes in recent packaging trends, such as source, farmer, attitude, tasting notes etc. However, in the past two weeks they’ve updated their packaging in a great way! (Below)

The notes indicate bright and sweet with a hint of fruit and citrus, however, I found it more bold and earthy! Could just be my pallete. It didn’t have the bright, acidic notes that I was expecting but was very well balanced. I did pick up a slight fruity finish.

I would say this roast was between being bold and earth and bright and acidic, which is a nice change of pace. It’s a roast anyone can enjoy.

It can be had for $15 Canadian on their site

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the “Nightwatch” espresso over the past week, usually having it straight up at the beginning of my day.

A percentage of proceeds from each purchase of Sheepdog Coffee products goes towards organizations dedicated to assisting families of first responders who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and lost their lives in the line of duty.
