It is one of the 3 locations in Vancouver, and part of a 4 shop chain with the last residing in Toronto.
The Roasting Facility and Coffee Lounge is located on West 8th in Vancouver. Another shop is located on Powell in Gastown.
The legacy of Vancouver based Milano Coffee’s artisan tradition dates back three generations of Italian coffee heritage blended with over thirty years of West Coast culture. Seen above is founder and master roaster Francesco Curatolo.
This location is quaint and cozy, seating about 10 people. It has a cool window bar where you can take in the sights. There’s a small “patio” with a couple tables and chairs along the side of the shop where it seems the neighbourhood coffee goers are always catching up on the weekends.
I really love the vibe of this place compared to most trendy places. It’s more concerned with serving up some of the best coffee I’ve had over pure aesthetic. Old meets new. The crowd that visits the shop is also super varied. From young, trendy people to the local elderly.
We’re dedicated to sourcing, hand roasting and blending each of our espressos, containing up to 13 different origin coffees. We put the same due diligence and passion into our pourover, drip and French press coffee blends. Our dark, medium, organic, and decafs deliver flavours found nowhere else in a brewed coffee blend.
The cappuccino is seriously the best cappuccino in the city. The Espresso is bold and smooth.
The mocha menu at Milano offers Killer (dark chocolate), Yin Yang (white chocolate and dark chocolate) or Hedgehog (hazelnut and chocolate) variations. After living in the West End for 3 years, we have yet to find a mocha that can compare. This is the ideal caffeine fix for the loyal sweet tooth.
